The original plan assumed joining the Game Off jam and building a game the whole month of November, which ended up being a few hours of vibe coding during one day of ETHGlobal hackathon in Buenos Aires happening during the Devconnect 2025 conference, but that's still better than nothing.
At the beginning of every October the js13kGames competition winners are announced, and I also found the time to fly to San Francisco for the GitHub Universe conference third year in a row.
Every August is almost entirely about the js13kGames competition, and this year's one is no different - the competition started, theme was announced, submit form opened after a few days, we even introduced the Online category replacing the Server one which was discontinued a few years ago, and you can also win Quest 3S in the WebXR category.
As expected, July revolved around the preparations to the upcoming js13kGames 2025 competition - talking with potential partners, acquiring experts, and prizes.
We've published the js13kGames 2024 t-shirts gallery last month, and started the countdown to js13kGames 2025. Other than that June was mostly about wrapping things up to be able to freely go on much needed vacations at the beginning of July.
Announcing Gamedev.js Jam 2025 overall winners and the best entries in the optional challenges, sending all the digital prizes, releasing the Balance t-shirt design in the online shop, and vibe coding a js13kGames shader - all that happened in May.
I vibe coded a shader in an hour and submitted it to the V Shaders challenge which offers $12k prize pool - you can do it too as the deadline is tomorrow, May 22nd.
